Spartan and Athenian cultures are different in respect of culture, society, government, and in the treatment of women. Spartan community developed a wholly militarized country whereas the Athenian followed the democracy. Spartan women were educated and well-trained whereas the powers of Athenian women were limited in their household. The economy flourished in Sparta through agricultural economic system. Athenian trade flourished but Athenian people had no idea how to recycle the crops. Spartan council members were chosen amongst the assembly members whereas in Athens, citizens had direct role in selecting the council members. Lycurgus brought some reformation in Sparta which developed the country as military centric and in Athens, Draco’s rules were replaced by Solon later to bring the democracy in Athens.
